BIW Gate Collection a Huge Success!

Together with representatives from the Local 6 AFL/CIO (the shipbuilders union at Bath Iron Works), members of The Park's board of directors, staff and youth, stood out in single digit temperatures to collect money from BIW employees as they went to work. Despite freezing temps & a tight economy, folks dug deep into their pockets and gave The Park $1,319.70! We would like to thank the Local 6 Union for sponsoring this gate collection and the BIW employees who gave so generously. A special thank you goes out to Mike Keenan, President of Local 6, Brian Labrecque for his planning suppport, and the many other union reps who stood out in the cold with us. The money collected during the gate collection will be used to support the youth meetinghouse aspect of The Park. With generous support from the greater Bath community, as exemplifid in this gate colletion, The Park continues to provide a place that promotes hands-on self-expression in a safe, positive, nurturing environment.
