Call for Volunteers Meeting on Monday, Feb. 25th @ 6:30 PM

The Bath Youth Meetinghouse & Skatepark (The Park) will host a "call for volunteers" meeting on Monday, February 25th @ 6:30 PM.  If you have volunteered for The Park in the past or if you are interested in getting involved now, please attend this very important gathering.  We want to build a consistent, caring and capable adult volunteer force so that the youth at The Park feel supported and supervised.  This meeting is geared towards adults in the greater Bath community, folks over the age of 18 AND out of high school.  (If you need childcare during the meeting, let us know and we will arrange for someone to supervise a movie in the theater while adults meet in the lobby.  We are closed on Monday nights, so skating won't be an option!)
 
The meeting will be a chance for you to learn more about The Park, our mission and the youth we serve.  We'll cover both the on-going & short-term volunteer opportunities that exist here.   We always need adult volunteers to staff our café, supervise movies nights and chaperone at concerts.  In addition, we will spend some time talking about possible new volunteer opportunities.  For example, there is great interest in establishing a “game night” at The Park, a time when kids can hang out and play board games in a fun, supervised setting.  Additionally, we want to expand what we offer to youth interested in music performance & concert promotion.  We need adult mentor musicians/sound engineers to help us work with our creative youth.  Not all volunteers have to work with the youth directly!  For instance, we could use a volunteer to help us coordinate the volunteers!  Or, if you have administrative, computer, maintenance or fundraising skills, we need your help, too. 
 
Please let us know if you will be able to make it to The Park on Monday, February 25th.  We'll have coffee, tea and light snacks available, so we need a tentative head count.  (Please note that if there is inclement weather, we will send out an email and post a cancelation notice on WCSH6 and WGME13.)   Even if you can’t be here for the meeting, but still want to volunteer or be involved, please be in touch by contacting Claire Berkowitz at 443-8900 or claireberkowitz@bathskatepark.com.
